ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS YOU NEED TO KEEP YOU AND YOUR FAMILY SAFE!

A+Plumbing is here to warn you about WATER HEATER safety. Many times this is overlooked. It's kind of like, "out of sight, out of mind," right?! This should never be the case with water heaters. We are here to inform you about the dangers of viewing your water heater in this light, or darkness. No one wants to read the information that is posted on a yellow tag attached to your water heater, until they understand the possible threats and dangers you and your family are facing.
These are the possible dangers: water damage, scalding, fire, etc. In order to keep you from experiencing these things, you must have a discharge line connected to a valve outlet and run to a safe place of disposal. The discharge line shall be installed to allow complete drainage of both the valve and the discharge line. There should not be any restrictions on the this line. The discharge line must go downward from the valve and end with a 6" air gap from an approved location or building drain. The pipe must be plain and unthreaded. You need to make sure it adheres to proper plumbing code. Call A+Plumbing @ (903) 887-9900; (903) 675-6540 or contact A+Plumbing at www.mycleanplumber.com

If you need a longer line of more than 30', use more than four elbows or bends in discharge piping, or reduction of discharge line siae will cause a restriction and reduce the discharge capacity of the valve. No shut-off valve should be installed b/t the relief valve and tank. Nor should it be installed in the discharge line itself. To any normal person, this sounds like a bunch of jibberish. The most important information that you need to know is:
WARNING: FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING THIS VALVE CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH AND/OR SEVERE PROPERTY DAMAGE.
Your water heater and valves should always be installed by a proper technician who is qualified and licensed. At A+Plumbing you can count on a drug-free, qualified, licensed, smell good plumber.
